Factsheet for SRHR in the WPS Agenda
A factsheet that not only communicates the urgency & importance of the issue but also engages and inspires action among policymakers, donors, and stakeholders
What we set out to do
We were tasked with creating an impactful and informative layout for a fact sheet titled “Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) Must Be Part of the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) Agenda.” The goal was to present critical information in a visually compelling manner that underscores the importance of integrating SRHR within the WPS framework as outlined in UN Security Council Resolution 1325 (UNSCR 1325).
How Are SRHR and the WPS Agenda Connected ?
The factsheet begins with an introduction that establishes the critical link between SRHR and the WPS agenda, highlighting their role in advancing gender equality and protecting the rights of diverse groups of women and girls. We used a combination of text and visuals to discuss the current challenges in prioritizing SRHR at policy and funding levels, emphasizing the risks of neglecting these issues.

The recommendations section is designed to be actionable and clear, with step-by-step guidelines on how to incorporate SRHR into WPS National Action Plans. Infographics are used to simplify complex strategies and make them more approachable.
This project allowed us to combine our passion for design with our commitment to social impact. By creating a visually compelling and informative factsheet, we aim to contribute to the global effort of integrating SRHR within the WPS agenda, ensuring that the rights and wellbeing of all women and girls are prioritized in peace and security initiatives.
We believe that powerful design can drive meaningful change. This factsheet is a testament to how thoughtful layout and design can elevate critical issues, inspire action, and ultimately make a difference in the lives of women and girls worldwide.
Key Design Elements:
Visual Hierarchy:
We structured the factsheet with a clear visual hierarchy, using headings, subheadings, and bullet points to guide the reader through the content smoothly. This ensures that key messages stand out and are easily digestible.
Color Palette and Imagery:
Taking the cues from the colours of Countdown 2030 Europe’s visual identity, we selected a color palette that reflects the themes of peace, security, and health. Subtle yet striking colors were used to highlight important sections and data points. Imagery of diverse women and girls was incorporated to humanize the facts and statistics, emphasizing the real-life impact of SRHR policies.
Infographics and Icons:
To illustrate the interconnectedness of SRHR and WPS, we designed infographics and icons. These visual elements help convey complex relationships and data in an intuitive and engaging way, making the information more memorable.
Typography:
We chose a clean, professional font to ensure readability and a sense of authority. The typography was used strategically to differentiate between various sections, making the document easy to navigate.
Call to Action:
The layout includes a prominent call to action, urging stakeholders to integrate SRHR into WPS National Action Plans. This section was designed to stand out, using bold fonts and colors to draw attention.
